Palm finally came to their senses and will include a Palm OS Classic emulator to the new Pre.
Tapping on Classic opens up the emulator, which turns your Pre into a virtual Palm 700p – though it runs twice as fast. You can use the Pre’s keyboard to enter data.
The Pre doesn’t HotSync, but you can enter a HotSync ID for software that uses the ID as a copy protection method. That also means you can “clone” your old Palm with your Pre, and you won’t have to buy another copy of your apps.
Palm said they specifically worked with Epocrates to make sure it worked in the Pre’s emulator.
