Click File on the menu bar then click Edit database | Users
Because this function is so powerful, it is restricted to the ADMIN account.
This function allows you to maintain the list of authorized users:
| • | Edit user information (initials, name, title) |
| • | Add new users |
| • | Delete users |
| • | Reset user password |
Databar
The user database is accessed via the VCR-style databar. Understanding how to use the database navigation bar is the key. While the program is running, hold the mouse pointer over an icon and a tool tip pops up to tell you its function.
Close login to new users
Select this check box to prevent new users from adding their own log in to user database. Log in to APK© may be open or closed. The default policy is "open", that is, a new user can add his own log in. Contrast this to a "closed" login policy which requires someone with knowledge of the password to add new users.
Command buttons
There are two command buttons along the bottom of the edit window.
| • | To reset the user's password, click on the Reset button |
| • | Click the Close button to close this dialog and return to the main APK screen. |
Limitations
You cannot have two users in the database with exactly the same initials. Please be aware that you may use any combination of alpha and numeric characters for the login initials.
